چکیده

In order to determine the variation and degree of diversity among most well-known Saudi date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.), this study applied various widely detectible fruit seed features. The properties seeds were described using ten phenotypic traits. Eighteen varieties from six production sites used in (Ḥaʼil, Al-Madina, Al-Hassa, Al-Qassim, Kharaj, Najran). data was analysed by Pearson r correlation. principal components analysis (PCA) UPGMA clustering analyse set. According PCA, results showed significant varieties. Our shows that ratio varies all mean weight between 4 13%. Varieties ‘Raziz’, ‘Lubab’ ‘Wasily’ demonstrate higher (over 10%). Whereas, Fankha depicts a 5 4% fresh dry ratio. statistical indicates 18 is comparable fruits. result suggests numerous features due dissimilarities heterogeneity. However, obtained also propose grouping closely related features, e.g., weights Eventually, it suggested conduct additional research on palms utilizing more traits have better understanding pack morphological descriptors.

Genome sequence of the date palm Phoenix dactylifera L

Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is a cultivated woody plant species with agricultural and economic importance. Here we report a genome assembly for an elite variety (Khalas), which is 605.4 Mb in size and covers >90% of the genome (~671 Mb) and >96% of its genes (~41,660 genes). Genomic sequence analysis demonstrates that P. dactylifera experienced a clear genome-wide duplication after eithe...

Date (Phoenix dactylifera L.) fruit soluble phenolics composition and anti-atherogenic properties in nine Israeli varieties.

Date (Phoenix dactylifera L.) fruit soluble phenolics composition and anti-atherogenic properties were examined in nine diverse Israeli grown varieties. Ethanol and acetone extracts of 'Amari', 'Barhi', 'Deglet Noor', 'Deri', 'Hadrawi', 'Hallawi', 'Hayani', 'Medjool', and 'Zahidi' fruit were analyzed for phenolics composition by RP-HPLC and tested for anti-atherogenicity by measuring their effe...

New microsatellite markers for assessment of genetic diversity in date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.)

New primer pairs of genomic DNA microsatellite markers were tested to assess the genetic diversity of eleven date palm genotypes. The results indicated that out of thirty, only seven primers (23.3%) failed to amplify the expected PCR fragments, while thirteen primers (43.3%) amplified monomorphic banding patterns and the remaining ten primers (33.4%) generated polymorphic banding patterns. A to...
